Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a disease that degenerates the nervous and motor control systems, inducing chronic muscle weakness and eventual paralysis. ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease, has no cure, and is a constant pain for not just a patient, but a patient’s family. Members of the FIRST community may be familiar with ALS thanks to a call to action from a certain someone:
When she lost her younger brother to ALS, Deb Fabricatore dedicated herself to the support of ALS families. Since 293 SPIKE is always pushing for better in its community, we pledged to help Ms. Fabricatore by mobilizing FIRST Mid-Atlantic to support her great cause. We will start at the John Bocskocsky Memorial Event, which we encourage all FIRST Mid-Atlantic teams to attend. For more information, please visit their event website here.
293 SPIKE sees this as just the beginning of a much larger mobilization of FIRST Mid-Atlantic. We will update this page as new information about how to get involve arises. Please join us in answering Woody’s call to action.
